I’m an artist-researcher, PhD candidate, and lecturer based in Montreal. From the cinephilia of my childhood to my later work in the audiovisual field, and now in AI, one fascination has remained constant: exploring how image technologies viscerally shape our embodied relationship with the world.
I hold a master’s degree from the Sorbonne (Paris 1) in film practice and aesthetics. I then worked in production, first as an assistant, and later as a freelance camera operator and editor. From the outset, I resisted the divide often taken for granted between theoretical engagement and practical work. That is why I have sought to sustain a writing practice that is conceptually rigorous and attentive to questions of visual mediation, while continuing my professional activities and developing a personal photographic practice, mainly analog, focused on intimate portraiture and urban drifting.
The professional rupture brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic reopened a space for writing and drew me back to academic research. I now pursue a hybrid, research-creation–oriented path grounded in a practical and self-reflexive engagement with generative AI, especially text-to-image models. My work asks how the transactions between human and machinic agencies these systems induce reshape our productive faculties and reorient how we imagine the world.

Je suis artiste-chercheur, doctorant et chargé de cours basé à Montréal. De la cinéphilie de mon enfance à mon activité ultérieure dans le champ de l’audiovisuel, puis aujourd’hui de l’IA, une même fascination traverse mon parcours : j’explore la manière dont les technologies de l’image façonnent viscéralement notre relation incarnée au monde.
Titulaire d’une maîtrise de la Sorbonne (Paris 1) en pratique et esthétique du cinéma, j’ai ensuite travaillé dans la production comme assistant, puis comme cadreur et monteur à mon compte. Dès le départ, j’ai éprouvé une réticence face à l’opposition, souvent tenue pour évidente, entre engagement théorique et pratique. C’est pourquoi j’ai cherché à maintenir une activité d’écriture, conceptuellement exigeante et attentive aux enjeux de médiation visuelle, tout en poursuivant mes activités professionnelles et une pratique photographique personnelle, principalement argentique, orientée vers des portraits intimes et mes dérives urbaines.
La rupture professionnelle liée à la pandémie de Covid-19 a rouvert un espace d’écriture et m’a ramené vers la recherche académique. Depuis, je mène désormais un parcours hybride, orienté vers la recherche-création, et ancré dans une approche pratique et auto-réflexive des IA génératives, en particulier des modèles texte-image. Mon travail interroge la manière dont les transactions entre agentivités humaines et machiniques qu’induisent ces systèmes reconfigurent nos facultés productives et réorientent notre façon d’imaginer le monde.
